 EMEA Business Development Director

Responsible for the stratergy, processes and growth within TRS due to sales, marketing and business development. Key geographical areas included Europe, Middle East and West Africa, with special emphasis being placed on oil producing countries.

Special projects including, enhancing our search engine optimisation, creating in online knowledge community and tender applications. Tenders won include BG, Tecnicas Reunidas, Gas Natural and ConocoPhillips.



Opened the TRS Spain branch, recruited key staff and created the processes involved with the general running of the branch. Was authorised signatory with budget control under Fluor and Sarbanes Oxley.

Achievements include:

Start-up of Spanish office
Developing Spain to a 15MM € turnover with 11% EBIT within 4 years
Recruiting and permitting 60 venezuelans including running local recruitment campaigns in Caracas


Camco Scientific Ltd  - UK
February 2003 – March  2004 – Operations Manager


The role of Operations with CAMCO was challenging, yet rewarding.  It included responsibility for all consultant activity , quality of service , ensuring legal and professional compliance, the recruitment, targeting, disciplining and monitoring of all non – management staff.
In addition to the collation of Management information for Preferred Supplier Clients (GSK/Pfizer/Novartis), the role involved responding to the collation of  KPI’s collected from consultants, training , rewarding and disciplining where necessary.

The position also entailed holding dealing with budgets for advertising , recruitment , training and all operational matters.

Reed Professional Services - UK
January 2002 – February 2003 – Senior Team Leader


In addition to leadership duties, the role included responsibility for ensuring that revenue targets were reached, through canvassing, client development and account management.
Emphasis was placed on new business development while ensuring that quality, SLA and compliance standards were met.


Elan Computing – Spain
April 2001 – July 2001 - Start up Manager (Contract)


Contracted to open a new office in Madrid for which the necessary staff and operations (6 people), were recruited; the administration, training , sales , protocols, were also implemented. The role involved responsibility for reporting budgetary information and quality control. This was a virgin site with no established client base ; which meant developing from cold relationships with companies  , including EDS, PWC, Accenture, Sun Microsystems, Unisys and Reuters in Spain.


ISA Systems SA
August 2000 – March 2001 – Business Development Manager

Worked in London and Madrid for this Argentinean software house, with the brief to develop and strengthen the IT recruitment division, in order to provide resource for SAP and CRM using customers.

As the role progressed , strong business relationships  were built and recruitment solutions sold, to a variety of clients such as Telefonica, PWC, Indra, Corte Ingles, Reuters, Sun Microsystems and Unisys , in Spain.

BCL Resource Solutions
October 1995 – July 2000 - Senior Consultant

Provided a complete resource solution to clients. Services offered included , consultancy, contract, permanent, contingency recruitment, search and selection and the provision of trainees.

 Client portfolio included Merrill Lynch, ABN Amro, Reuters, Bridge Dow Jones, Coutts and Co, Gartmore, Chelsea and Westminster Health and Citigroup. The one stop shop was a very successful and competitive way of working , enabling adaptation to market changes.

BCL- International
Senior Consultant

Successfully sold IT contract and headhunting solutions throughout mainland Europe. Main geographical areas of success were Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.

BCL- International Oracle division
Sales consultant

This was a pure business development role, where new clients were developed and Oracle consultancy services, were sold through direct marketing and networking
The Oracle market was introduced to the city via Merrill Lynch and ABM Amro. Over time BCL developed a reputation of being one of the best ‘Oracle Houses’ in the UK.

Austin Benn Associates
June – September  1995  - New Business Executive

Was responsible for canvassing and account management of client companies for the search, selection and recruitment of sales and marketing executives.

Ciba Geigy (Halliday Jones Associates)
January  -June 1995 – Geigy Locum Pharmaceutical Representative

Responsible for the promotion of prescription only medicines to family practitioners, nurses and  pharmacists in Essex. Target clients included the NHS, Private Practice medical establishments and chemists. The product range was varied and included Hormone Replacement Therapies, Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory and dermatological medicines. In a  very short time, products were successfully sold.
